Guide

NetPlay vs recording with your phone

Plenty of players film their own matches. It works — up to a point. This guide is about what changes when the court films for you: the setup, the angle, and what you get back. It sticks to what NetPlay actually does.

What is different.

Setup
Your phone: Someone brings a phone, mounts it or props it up, and remembers to press record.
A NetPlay court: Nothing to bring or press. Scan the QR, pay, play.
Angle
Your phone: Wherever you could put it — different every time.
A NetPlay court: One camera fixed on top of the back glass, centred. The same full-court view every session, 60 fps, Full HD.
What you get
Your phone: One long video file.
A NetPlay court: The full recording, highlight clips, serve success, court maps and an AI game review.
Highlights
Your phone: An evening of scrubbing and cutting.
A NetPlay court: Cut for you and ready to share about ten minutes after the last point.
Watching it back
Your phone: Scrub through the pauses between points.
A NetPlay court: Rallies only, or the full match — at the speed you like.
Cost
Your phone: Your phone and your time.
A NetPlay court: €5 per session, €30/month for unlimited matches, or split between players.

One thing a phone still does.

NetPlay analyses only what the NetPlay court camera records — you can't upload videos you filmed yourself. So if you play somewhere without a NetPlay court, your phone is still the way to keep a video of your match.

On a NetPlay court there's no reason to bring it: the camera films the time you paid for, and the whole match pack is waiting on your private match page about ten minutes after the last point.

No mounting, no editing, nothing to press — scan the courtside QR, play, and the match is on its way to your phone.

Recording, answered.

01 Can I use NetPlay with my own phone footage?
No. NetPlay analyses only what the NetPlay court camera records.
02 Is the court recording always on?
No. The camera records only during a paid session, and only the time you chose.
03 Is there audio?
No — video only, no court audio.
